Meme of the Week

Great work, here's a bag of ice

The Big 3 of the Week

What I'm following

1/ What and the Wide World of Sports is Going on in Texas

Texas A&M Hitting coach Michael Earley left the Aggies with Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle for University of Texas, and now Coach Earley is back at Texas A&M as the head coach.

What in the wide world of sports is going on?!?

When Coach Schlossnagle left A&M majority of their skill players entered the portal looking for a new place too play. Will they end back up at Texas A&M now that Earley is there or will they move on?

Here you can find the list of A&M players who have entered the portal and where they will be heading next season.

2/  What it takes to compete in the combine

What the MLB Combine is like...

In the MLB combine there are multiple categories that you get tested in medical assessments, strength and conditioning physical tests, and on field assessments. In the medical assessments they measure your height, weight, arm span, range of motion, and grip strength. The strength and conditioning physical test consist of your broad jumps, 30 yard dash, agility & reaction test, and a counter movement jump. Finally in the on field assessment it will test your skills how well you field your position how far and hard you hit the baseball and how hard you throw.

Below you can find a video that takes you through tests of each category to see what it would be like if you were to participate in the MLB draft combine.

Do you have what it takes?

3/ New base running trick in the MLB

We've mentioned in previous Rundowns about how breaking up the double play has been essentially removed from the game, but hold that thought for one minute.

MLB teams have discovered a trick around the sliding rule to help break up double play. The trick is not to slide into second base, but run through the base because it is faster.

Below you can see how teams use this strategy to help them win games and steal runs.

Points:  I started something new this week. I'm adding up the points of previous Rundowns to have a grand total for the team. I think this is a great way to represent past winnings while showcasing this weeks championship runs.

Here's how it works: If you make the championship game you get points! 2 points for first place. 1 point for second place.

"Best practice shirt ever."

We This month 12-Six dropped one of the best workout shirts in the Tigers wardrobe. Players are raving about it. They love how it keeps them cool on the turf surface durring practice, the flexibility of the material, and the light weight material.

Take a look at it and grab both shirts before they're gone.
