The Las Vegas Tigers have to be excited about this potential news...

Hello Tigers, welcome to this week's Rundown. It appears the Oakland A's could be moving to Vegas. It's not official, official, but the A's have announced they have signed a binding contract for land in Las Vegas

Congrats Vegas Tigers; you're one step closer to collecting all the professional team infinity stones.

Question of the day: What cities have the Athletics called their home?

(A) Philadelphia, Boston, Oakland

(B) Boston, New York, Oakland

(C) Philadelphia, Kansas City, Oakland

(D) Boston, Chicago, Oakland

*see the answer at the bottom

In this week's Tiger Rundown:

Tiger Players

Soooo Many Home Runs

I wonder what the first-class seats looked like on these flights. Links to the videos and pictures are attached to the player's name.

|Alumni - Professional

Zach Cole (Class of 2017): Another one! Add his third home run of the season

|Alumni - College

Ethan Willoughby (Class of 2022): Starting as a true freshman at division 1 Southern Illinois - Edwardsville rips a rocket up the middle against Arkansas Little Rock

Anthony Green (Class of 2016): former Tiger grabs his third American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week honor in four weeks.

|17U

Austin Kirnbauer: this was an absolute missile. Chicago Tiger goes 4 for 4 with a HR, Double, and two singles

Parker Dougherty: Indy Tiger adds to his home run total

Hayden Scott: O-MY-Lanta! That ball had a family. If you're keeping count at home, that's two home runs for Indy Tigers.

Chris Larrosa & Deigo Morfin: Salt Lake Bash bros! Both add a home run to their stat line.

Zander Street: StL Tiger pitches 6 innings, no earned runs, 8k's, with 1 hit. He helps his high school team improve to 4-0 in conference play.

Dennis Muraida: Chicago Tigers diced up the competition with 7k's and one base on ball in six innings pitched

|16U

Jackson Kamp: Indy Tiger writes a chapter in Hitting 101.

Faith Thompson: two weeks in a row on the Rundown and she's been stacking hits. 7 for 8 this weekend.

Peyton Briddell: YAHTZEE!

Namarion Coleman: Quad Cities Tiger must love the beach because he sees beach balls at the plate. He goes 6 for 8 with 3 RBIs in one day.

Luke Sullivan: StL Tiger cruises through a 4-1 win with 6 innings pitched, 9K's, with only 1 walk.

|15U

Boston Acosta: Tulsa Tiger gets some state-wide press with being a left-handed Freshman on Varsity. His write-up is the 13th player down.

Evan Couser: the Columbus Tiger is starting the year off hot! Not even a winter vortex could stop this stat line. In 11 games: .577 Avg, 12 for 12 on stolen base attempts, and 5 extra-base hits.

Carter Kelly: Cali type vibes. Smashes a double.

Adler Dietz: Mash baseballs and don't apologize is a good 2023 philosophy.

|14U

Braden Lenz: STL Tiger puts on a hitting clinic this weekend going 6 for 10 with a double a three RBI's

Lukas Duncan: Check this stat line from Pittsburgh; 6 innings pitched, 0 Runs, 4 K's and at the plate 6 for 12 with a triple and 3 RBI's

|13U

Henry Floyd: Prevents the pass ball and throws out the runner! Say what?!

Nolan Gambino: The Great Gambino does it again! .556 Avg, 4 innings pitched with 4 K's this past weekend for Toledo Tigers

Jagger Lewis & Kruz Berreth: Tulsa Tigers make go big. Jagger delivers 10 k's while Kruz grabs 4 hits with two stolen bases.

Caiden Riggs, Cooper Shepard, Mitchell Larose: Triple threat. Down East Tigers get three players named to the All-Tourney team in the Spring State Championship

|10U

Evan Johanboeke: Southern Indiana Tiger hits an inside-the-park home run

Isaiah Windell: a great recovery by this Southern Indiana catcher. He was able to get the runner in time!

|7U

Brase Team: lockdown defense, yes, please! The team only allowed three runs over four games. Pretty impressive for this age group with typical high-scoring games.

Congratulations to Jack Gausselin of the South Bend, Indiana Tigers! He will be attending D3 Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.

From the Rundown

Las Vegas AKA "The Team Collector"

What happened? Oakland A's are bad. So bad, their pitching staff's ERA is 7.98 at the time of my writing. This is disappointing because the the historic franchise has had a lot of great memories with the Bash Bros and Moneyball. It appears to be all coming to a head. The A's announced the move to Vegas is becoming real.

This will be the Athletics' fourth city in their franchise history. Philadelphia, Kansas City, Oakland, and now...Vegas.

If you're wondering what Oakland A's baseball was really like, here's one of my favorite tweets from the week: (How I will remember baseball in Oakland)

Subscribe to the Closing Pitch. It's a baseball and softball lifestyle podcast. David Birkby and I are the show hosts. It's hard to suggest a specific episode, but here are the ones I think you'll find the most value with where we are in the year:

From the Tigers VIP

The Road to .400 Starts Here

Wouldn't it be nice to know what you're looking for in building a good swing? In this VIP post, we speak to Cameron Ginger of Propel Hitting. We talk about what makes a swing "good." We also discuss how to break down any professional swing and steal their movements. Train your eye by listening to this conversation.

Why it's important? The best way to know you have mastered a topic is to explain it to someone verbally. Can you tell why one professional swing is better than the next?
