FINAL RUNDOWN FOR SEASON 2!

Well gang, we're here, the final Rundown is in your hands. This doesn't mean I won't be writing my occasional update emails, but the weekly vibe will be on temporary hold until 2025.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this second season, scanning the internet for the big plays, and receiving emails from you.

In this last email, I would love to get your feedback. Please be brutually honest from what you like, what you didn't, and what I should do more of in 2025.

You can email me at [email protected]

Thank you!

The Big 3 of the Week

What I'm following

1/ Could You Hit A Ball Further Than This

Have you ever wondered how big the original Rickwood Field actually is?

Rickwood Field was home to the NLB Birmingham Barons in 1910. The Rickwood Field you know today is not the the actually size and fences of the field when it first opened. The real fence is actually a concrete wall that sits another 70 feet further than current centerfield fences in the MLB.

In 1948 Walt Dropo blasted a ball off the concrete that was hit 467 feet far that is approximately the length of a football field in a half.

Here you can read more about Dropo's crazy home run that hit off the old wall of Rickwood Field.

To put it into perspective he would have hit the jumbotron at Yankee Stadium:

2/  Kyle McCann called out for touching teammate

Say What?!?  McCann was scoring on a ball in the gap when he missed home plate. As he was running past home plate his teammate grabbed his shoulder to get his attention. The umpire called him out.

3/ Where did you get your offers?

Popular instagram account batboybaseball started a new trend where they asked MLB players what offers they received out of high school. It's one of the few times where we get to see MLB players get giddy about speaking about their history. A lot of them typically give short answers when talking about their road to the show due to the respect of not overshadowing their teammates and claiming their road was a lot harder. Batboybaseball presented the questions in an inviting manner which allowed the players to open up.

My favorite answer: Ryan Helsley

Raise it up!

Points:  I started something new this week. I'm adding up the points of previous Rundowns to have a grand total for the team. I think this is a great way to represent past winnings while showcasing this weeks championship runs.

Here's how it works: If you make the championship game you get points! 2 points for first place. 1 point for second place.

"Best practice shirt ever."

We This month 12-Six dropped one of the best workout shirts in the Tigers wardrobe. Players are raving about it. They love how it keeps them cool on the turf surface durring practice, the flexibility of the material, and the light weight material.

Take a look at it and grab both shirts before they're gone.
