I turned 35 yesterday. Here's a screenshot of my conversation with one of my former players:
With every birthday you take a look back into the past. Working with our players I'm reminded of my previous chapters with flashback moments. If the walls of our facility could talk, the wisdom would be endless. As I was scrolling through X searching for Rundown material I came across many Tiger profiles. One Tiger profile stuck out to me
Here is a screenshot:
I search Tiger players constantly due to the nature of the Tiger Rundown and sourcing material for our social media accounts. When a profile like this is filled out, it signals to me that he wants it.
He's looking to get recruited.
Now, obviously I would want you to take pride in your Tiger Profile account, but the aspect of posting on social accounts is also a huge signal that you want to play at the next level. College coaches and scouts are looking for these types of players.
There are a number of ways to show that you care about your craft outside of the digital space. Some of these include:
1. How you wear your uniform?
2. Are you jogging in between plays on and off the field?
3. Are you the first one out of the dugout to pick up players after a play?
The digital space is no different. If I could sum it up to one word, it would be: hustle. Are you hustling to make things happen? If you are, the world becomes a lot easier. You're signaling to your community leaders, "I want this and I'm the easiest person to bet on."
Moral of this thought session is that, I love seeing players who out hustle their competition.
This is the definition of a Tiger player.
The Big 3 of the Week
What I'm following
1/ Are hitters getting worse or are pitchers getting better?
Dicky V went to social media wondering why hitters are struggling this year.
It does seem odd doesn't it?
Two examples that come to mind are Randy Arozarena of the Tampa Rays and Adolis Garcia of the Texas Rangers. Both of these players were outstanding for their teams in 2023 and helped lead them into the playoffs. Garcia ended up winning a World Series.
Here's their stats compared from 2023 to 2024:
Pitching is becoming increasingly better with a new crop of prospects reaching the league. Even a Tiger alumni who recently reached the league throws upper 9's.
Below you'll find the top 10 pitchers this year on average fastball break. This is the amount of break they get on their fastball in inches. Compare this to their fastball speeds and you can see why it's hard to hit.
See the Dicky V post and jump into the comments. They're spicy.
If you asked Jackson if he was going to be in the Big Leagues in 2023, he might have said, "Need some luck, but i'll get there at some point." If you asked him if he would be an All-Star, it would have been laughable.
The 21 year old bursted on the scene in 2024. Here's his stats so far:
In one of the biggest weeks of the year in baseball, you will have the All-Star Game, Futures Game, and the MLB Draft. To catch up to speed on the schedule of events click on the button below.
Points: I started something new this week. I'm adding up the points of previous Rundowns to have a grand total for the team. I think this is a great way to represent past winnings while showcasing this weeks championship runs.
Here's how it works: If you make the championship game you get points! 2 points for first place. 1 point for second place.
Thank You Levatos and Joe Matise!!! The Future Looks Bright:
"Best practice shirt ever."
We This month 12-Six dropped one of the best workout shirts in the Tigers wardrobe. Players are raving about it. They love how it keeps them cool on the turf surface durring practice, the flexibility of the material, and the light weight material.
Take a look at it and grab both shirts before they're gone.
