The Big 3 of the Week

What I'm following

1/ Is This The Ultimate Performance Hack?

Self talk has become a big conversation starter in the professional community. We typically see these types of actions from Olympic athletes. An Instagram influencer, Elisabeth Akinwale shares a compilation of when the camera caught these athletes building themselves up for a legendary performance.

2/ How is this dirty?

In 2015, MLB changed the rules of sliding and breaking up double plays. The new rule requires players to make a bona fide slide in front of the base, and a violation can result in the batter and runner being called out. Previously, runners were granted one arm length away from the bag.

Since the rule was implemented, it has been passed down to the younger levels. Its been modified and perceived in different ways by umpires. In the most recent plays in college baseball, LSU runner was sliding into second base with the edge of his body being just outside of bag.

Whats your call on this play?

Here's what slides use to look like.

3/ This Makes Me Want to Run Through a Wall! Vitello puts on an interview clinic.

"Tony Vitello just gave one of the fiercest postgame press conference openings I’ve ever seen. He was clearly upset with a question from yesterday asking if they lost tonight, would this season be seen as a success.

There was A LOT more involved with this."

- Trey Wallace, Senior College Sports Writer for OutKick

CHAMP.CHAMP. DOUBLE CHAMP

My Wife: "You Shouldn't Care About Getting the Belt. Have fun."

Me: "I'm not. I care about getting two belts."

Points:  I started something new this week. I'm adding up the points of previous Rundowns to have a grand total for the team. I think this is a great way to represent past winnings while showcasing this weeks championship runs.

Here's how it works: If you make the championship game you get points! 2 points for first place. 1 point for second place.
