Steve Hacker knows hitting—because he lived it. A St. Louis native and former Missouri State standout, Steve was one of the most feared hitters in college baseball during the mid-90s. In 1995, he blasted 37 home runs and posted a .957 slugging percentage, numbers that earned him All-American honors and a spot in the Missouri State Athletics Hall of Fame. He was later recognized on the Missouri Valley Conference All-Time Baseball Team for his record-setting power and consistency at the plate.
After college, Steve went on to play professionally in the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Twins organizations, climbing all the way to Triple-A. His experiences facing elite pitchers gave him firsthand insight into what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of the game.
When his playing career ended, Steve shifted his focus to teaching. For more than two decades, he has worked with players of all ages as a private instructor and hitting coordinator for the Rawlings Tigers, one of the premier youth and high school baseball organizations in the country. His players know him as a coach who simplifies hitting, emphasizes the mental and mechanical side of the game, and helps each athlete build confidence in the box.
Players he has worked with over the years:
Jake Burger: MLB
Luke Voit: MLB
Zach Cole: MLB
Tate Matheny: MiLB
Whether you’re a parent looking for the right guidance for your child, or a player serious about taking the next step, Steve’s approach blends pro-level experience with teaching that connects. This course is your opportunity to learn from someone who has been where you want to go—in the batter’s box with the game on the line.
