Rawlings Tigers NOVA – Black 13U turned in an outstanding weekend, finishing as the top seed in the bracket after back-to-back wins over Hit Doctor 13U, 10-1, and VSA Select DMV 13U Gold, 10-3. The Tigers carried that momentum into the championship game, where they battled hard in an exciting 11-10 contest.

The offense continued to shine in the title game, as the Tigers collected 10 hits and erupted for seven runs in the third inning to take control. Sebastian and Alex each recorded two hits, while Maximillian and Alex each drove in two runs. The team also showed patience at the plate with seven walks and stayed aggressive on the bases, stealing six bags on the day.

Rawlings Tigers NOVA – Black 13U also made big defensive plays, turning two double plays in the championship matchup. While the weekend ended just short of a title, the Tigers showed toughness, energy, and the ability to compete with anyone in the bracket. Earning the top seed and finishing runner-up capped off a strong all-around performance for the team.

March Mania Runners Up

The Rawlings Tigers NOVA – Black 13U put together an impressive run at the March Mania tournament, finishing as runner-up in the top bracket after battling all the way to the championship game.

In the title matchup against VA Vols West 13U, the Tigers showed tremendous fight and resilience in a high-scoring contest. After falling behind early, Rawlings Tigers NOVA – Black answered in a big way in the bottom of the second inning, erupting for nine runs to take control of the game. The offense stayed aggressive throughout, building a lead that reached as many as four runs and keeping pressure on the opposition from start to finish.

The Tigers collected key contributions across the lineup, with Maximillian delivering a big hit in the second inning to help spark the rally. Liam, Sebastian, Maximillian, Niko, Aiden, and Alex each drove in runs, while Alex led the way with two hits. Isaiah added energy on the bases with two stolen bases, while the defense delivered a key double play from second baseman Henry to shortstop Conner in a hard-fought championship effort.

Although the game ultimately slipped away late, the Tigers showed the kind of toughness, offensive firepower, and team-first mentality that defined their tournament run. Finishing runner-up in the top bracket is a strong accomplishment, and the weekend provided another great example of the competitiveness and growth of this Rawlings Tigers group.

The Rawlings Tigers NOVA – Black 13U delivered an impressive showing on Sunday, earning back-to-back wins in dramatic and decisive fashion.

In the first matchup, the Tigers battled through a high-scoring contest against the Virginia Vols, securing a thrilling 10–9 walk-off victory. After jumping out to an early six-run lead, the Tigers showed resilience when the Vols rallied late to tie the game, ultimately reclaiming the lead in the bottom of the fifth to seal the win. Strong baserunning and disciplined at-bats were key, as the team collected 11 walks and stole 12 bases in a balanced offensive effort.

The Tigers carried that momentum into Game Two, defeating the Richmond Braves 12–6 behind another powerful offensive performance. The lineup consistently applied pressure with extra-base hits and timely run production, while the pitching staff combined to hold the Braves in check. The team’s defense added to the effort, turning a double play and limiting scoring opportunities throughout.

With solid teamwork, patience at the plate, and aggressive play all around, the Tigers capped off the championship with a 2–0 record and another strong step forward in tournament play.

The Rawlings Tigers NOVA – Black 13U put together a dominant Sunday at South County Middle School, securing both their semifinal and championship wins in convincing fashion.

In the semifinals, the Tigers jumped ahead early and never looked back, cruising to a 10–1 victory over the Metro Senators 13U Central. The pitching staff combined to allow just one unearned run across seven innings, while the offense delivered timely hits and aggressive baserunning to take control of the game.

The momentum carried into the championship matchup against Stars Camarata 13U, where the Tigers’ bats stayed hot. The team piled up 14 hits and capitalized on early opportunities, building a sizable lead by the third inning on the way to a 12–3 win. Strong pitching and steady defense kept the game out of reach, while a relentless offensive approach sealed the tournament title.

With contributions up and down the lineup and solid performances on the mound, the Tigers showcased depth, balance, and teamwork on their way to the championship crown.
